I always try and express how much The Shop appreciates all the help we receive in presenting our annual Christmas event. As I write this I am thinking of all the folks who, without them, the event would not be possible.
This as always includes the businesses and folks who's ads show up on the back of the Toy Run shirts. The shirts are a major source for cash for Safe Homes. At the time of this writing the amount was $10,000!
We would also like to thank those who got the parade across Spartanburg safely. With the help of the Una Fire Department, Spartanburg Public Safety, and our brothers of The Black Jacks MC we made it safely to Mid-City.
Not only was this a record year for monetary donations it was I think also a record year for toys. We had one FULL truck of toys and bicycles and two more trailers with just bicycles! We counted the bicycles. We had 97 bicycles this year! Click here to see a photo of all the bikes. Many of us found our love for 2 wheels on bicycles.
Ok, enough of what some might think at this point as rambling. The main point I'd like to make is that without each and everyone who donated, showed up with toys, worked in the background, sold ads, spread the word, had coffee placed out front of their places of business to warm us, greeted us as friends when we arrived, drove up from Columbia to meet us with toys and honor our friend Dudley or simply made our day with a smile.
Bigger cities may have more people and more bikes. Spartanburg bikers have the biggest hearts!
We love all y'all!
With my respect for all of you, Ron
