Thanks to Steve Moore, the AHDRA 2001 Top Fuel Champion, I enjoyed a great weekend at Bristol Dragway. Steve made sure that I was able to get some great shots. Without his help, a lot of the shots on these pages would not be.
After having problems with the bike in first round qualifying, Steve qualified in the second round on Saturday with a decent run of 7.162 175.43mph, decent but more important, in the show! The final round of qualifying brought a run of 6.972 201.49mph which was good enough for a 5th place spot. With 16 Top Fuel bikes in the field from all parts of the country, Canada, and Japan, Steve did well by making it to the final round. He was finally defeated in the final round by Tak Shigematsu, a competitor from Japan who owns a Harley dealership in Japan and flies in for the AHDRA events.
Since I shot well over 300 frames during the 2 days, I've separated them into 2 pages which then again separate them into multiple pages. I hope this helps those of you with dial-up connections.Home email Ron
